    Choose Watt Accordingly
I have a bearded dragon. She has a 40 gallon tank long rectangular. This heat provides a wider range of heat than the ceramic ones. You can put these inside of the deep dome as well without issue. The 50 watt provides approximately an increase of 15° F. The 100 watt provides approximately 30° Fahrenheit increase. I have one of each for the various seasons as she needs extra boost or during the winter. This does give off a slight red glow but it’s kind of like a glow stick. This is important because despite what retailers will ignorantly tell people, certain reptiles such as a bearded dragon are perfectly capable of seeing red light. Therefore a lot of these heaters disturb their sleep. I have had red bulbs before and my beardie won’t sleep. However, this one is very dim and you really can’t see it past the deep dome it’s in. My beardie sleeps just fine under this light.Like most of these heated lamps, it does have a smell when you first turn it on and use it for the first time. Don’t worry if you are new to it. They always smell like that for the first 15 or 20 minutesThere are some bulbs that look exactly like this but emit absolutely no light at all and those are also good but if you can’t find one of those in this one is very low light and shouldn’t disturb your reptile.

    Heat light
Says blue bulb so I bought it and there no blue on it just silicon thang wrapped on bulb not sure used for tuck off. but bulb is what you actually get in mail.

    Heats the area well
Put this in for my beardy. It states that it should be about 20 cm or 7 inches away so was able to drop it into the tank some. Lizard loves to bask in the heat. I’ve had it running with a thermostat about 10 hours a day for a couple weeks now and the temps stay where I want them and it’s performing fine. I like that the outter bell might get warm but never gets hot.I recommend. Its performance is great so far. Based on what I’m reading I think these would last longer than bulbs and have a lower running cost. I’ll have to update later to let you know how it holds up.

    Works for our snake
This is the perfect bulb for night time for our snake. It allows him to have a spot to lay down and keep warm, without having to have a bright red light on. Keeps his tank plenty warm.

  5. Kaley Lathrop

    Amazing!
I couldn’t be happier with this heat bulb! I use it for my tropical reptile tank, and it’s been a game changer for maintaining the perfect temperature. The bulb heats up quickly and distributes warmth evenly throughout the enclosure, creating a cozy environment for my reptile. It’s powerful enough to maintain ideal basking spots without overheating the tank, and my reptile is more active and happy as a result. The bulb’s durability is impressive too. I’ve been using it daily for a while now, and it shows no signs of burning out. It’s also energy-efficient, so I don’t worry about it running constantly. If you’re looking for a reliable heat source for your tropical reptile, this bulb is a fantastic option—definitely worth every penny!

    Great
Works great, puts off a good amount of heat

  7. Ethan C

    Good for heating but…
It isn’t dimmable like other heat projectors. I normally use a dimmer or rheostat with a heater like this. The only way to really dial in temps with this is to adjust the distance.

    Works well
This bulb heats up quickly and works well for my sand boa. The lamp came packaged well and while the blue silicone wrap rolled up in shipping, it was easy to reposition. No odor when package opened.
