Wonderfully Versatile!
There are a dozen mini ceramic heaters I looked at; but the reviews ultimately led me here instead. (To be fair, I also needed a mini heater that would arrive by the next morning, in time to help against the unusual -8 F Real Feel temperature our region was getting. So there were a few nice looking ones for less; but they would have taken several days to arrive.)What I love about this. You can really adjust it to your liking!â It has a dial for how light or strong you want the air/heat to flow out. It is a dial spectrum, so you can really control how lightly or hard the heat is blowing out of the unit.â It has 3 settings: Low, High, or Fan (just air, no heat). To determine a modest warmth, or toasty heat.There is a button on the underside, so if you knock it over, the unit stops. Safety feature.Our central heat was broken and we had a space heater. But by my bed is wall to wall glass. I also have mice in a cage. The glass was so cold, even with the one space heater. This lil unit was placed to give some soft warmth to my bed area and the terrarium a few feet away. Because I can adjust the flow and the heat, I was able to customize our area in a way that everyone was comfortable enough during the very cold snap.I didnât care for the look; but itâs not bad. It is light weight, and small without being too dinky to matter. The area I used it for is about an 8â x 8â nook that opens into a larger studio room area. I have a regular space heater I usually use to heat the 600 square foot room; however with minus 8F Real Feel and wall windows, I didnât want anyone (even the wee ones) to get too cold.)We were perfectly cozy because I could adapt the flow and heat enough to suit a range of temperatures. Classic vs Digital
I have purchased both the classic (2 turn knob) and digital (display on top) variants of this heater. The classic I would give 5 stars and the digital 3.5. They both are very compact and produce good airflow and heat. The key difference is the clunky interface on the digital version. There are several modes and several temperature settings all of which are much more finicky than just setting the two knobs (one for how hot you want it relatively, and one for off, low and high). Another key difference that drove me nuts with the digital one was that every time I moved it not only did the safety pedal turned the heat off (good safety feature) but it turned the whole unit off (meaning I had to reset all the settings). Drove me nuts every time I wanted to reposition the dang thing. But the worst part was that with the digital one it has an added “cool down” timer where if you want to turn the heater off it does a 30 second cool down where it continues to blow air while turning off the heating elements. So once I’m nice and toasty I have to suffer 30 seconds of cold air blowing on me. I’ll keep the digital one but if I had to buy again, I’d just get a second unit of the classic style.
