I have to join many other reviewers!
I tried to do as much research as possible before making this purchase. After using a high efficiency washer and dryer we wanted to return to the more reliable designs from the past. It was a pleasant surprise to find this dryer to complete our washer/dryer combination. We had a gas dryer before the electric he unit, and I still prefer gas. My wife is elated that sheets are coming out looking as though they have been pressed. Very impressive appliance, and simple installation/operation.

Piece of Junk
After saving up and buying this to replace a Kitchenaid, I can only say that this dryer has been nothing but a disappointment! I have had the repairman out to my place twice. He replaced both the timer and the heat sensor and still the Dryer will not work on Auto. It runs and runs until the clothing are ruined. It is infuriating. The second time he came out he finally “decided” that it is because the dryer is located in a basement and has to vent up the wall and out of the house that it is not working properly. “Are you KIDDING ME”, I asked! I have lived in this house for more than ten years, in which time I have owned a Kitchenaid and a Maytag before that. Neither of them had trouble venting out of the basement. Surely I am not the only customer in the world that has his laundry room in the basement. Secondly the attachment for the vent hose extends only about 1 inch out from behind the dryer. Try attaching a vent hose to that and get it to stay on. What kind of joke is this? At this point I am so frustrated with this crappy dryer that the next stop for it might be the shooting range!

Great Dryer but has a few kinks
Great dryer – love it but after a few months it doesn’t heat up as much as it used too; have to run it twice as long for clothes to dry.

Speed Queen Washer Dryer
I bought this dryer with a companion washing machine. They are well made and easy to operate. They both arrived on time and in perfect condition. Both were very easy to install; particularly the dryer. I just attached a metal vent hose to the dryer, connected the standard gas line and plugged it in.The unit heated up immediately and the first load was dry faster than the electric dryer it replaced. It runs quietly, has no odor and dries the clothes quickly without heating up the laundry room.

Great quality and fast, spend the same money and get a years of service..
Speed Queen products are rock solid. Built for commercial applications the Speed Queen company has produced a quality product that is sure to last for years. I’m sick of purchasing computerized washers and dryers that have been designed to fail in 3 to 5 years. Speed Queen controls are analog, and the cycle times are blisteringly fast. The design is simple, the analog controls can be run by a child, and maintenance is a snap..Speed Queens high quality show in the consumer washer and drier.

Cheap Plastic Side Panels Will Crack
I’ve owned the ADG4BRG for under a year, and the plastic panels (on either side of the control panel have already cracked). See exact issue here on automaticwasher.org. [automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?49216_9]This doesn’t seem to have any impact on the machine’s ability to function properly…but frustrating nonetheless, as these machines are definitely not cheap, and i would expect better quality to come with the big price tag. When I contacted Speed Queen about this issue through their website, the response was basically as follows:”Please contact your dealer and have them send out their authorized servicer, or contact one of the authorized servicers from our servicer locator to have the cracked panels replaced.”Other than this issue, the dryer has worked wonderfully, and I’d like to believe the the internal components that actually make the machine work are of better quality and are more reliable than the outer panels.
