   Effective heating pad and excellent customer service
   We use this heating pad every day, warming up our muscles/joints to help ease sport-related strain and prevent injury. After pulling out my back and having severe back spasm last year and a partial tear of my calf over the winter (all from pickleball—what else? 😆) I decided to try this far infrared tech for warming up our muscles. Some physical therapists on YouTube (eg Bob and Brad) had recommended far infrared tech. Never thought I’d ever pay this much for a heating pad but it has been very effective in warming up and loosening up my muscles and I’ve not had any other injuries since. Now I’d say that it’s a bargain of a medical device. This is actually our second UTK heating pad, with the first being the smaller pad with wrap around band for the lower back (not used since we got this larger one).Every morning I sit with it on a couch while sipping my coffee and surfing the Tube, especially for hamstrings and back. It does take 10 min or so to warm up sufficiently so do turn it on as early as you can. After daily use by both my wife and me for 10 months, the unit failed, giving this EAA message on the controller. Very disappointed as we’d come to depend on this heater. In contacting the UTK customer service email, I was shocked to get a response 1 minute later from “Vivian”. After some back and forth emails over a couple of days confirming the problem (connector between the controller and pad- I suspect a common problem), Vivian confirmed that a replacement would be sent. Only 1 day later I received the replacement unit (I guess the product is stocked in the local Amazon warehouse). This new one is slightly different in that it does not have the screw in connector between the controller and pad, so hopefully we won’t have the same problem happen again within a year.Kudos to this most excellent customer service on a product we love! I plan on getting other pads with specific shapes (eg for shoulder or neck) maybe for Christmas.

   Well built comfortable effective heating pad!
   This UTK pad came highly recommended by my physical therapist. Thus is the DC version which plugs into your standard wall socket. The cord is nicely long, 10 feet or more. The controller has a quality feel to it and is intuitive to use. The pad itself is heavy, feels durable and very well constructed.My wife and I are using this generally 2-3 times per day for back, arms and neck. To me it is soothing and comfortable. For her, she believes her pain is greatly reduced or completely alleviated.So far, we are impressed with the quality and results! Far above any other heating pad either of us gave ever used.

   I have 3 UTK FIR Pads/ Wraps lol
   So my FIR (Far InfraRed) heating pad obsession started with the neck wrap, progressed to the tan one with photons, then this one! My husband has the back wrap, and we’ve gifted the back wrap:) I have wonky circulation so even if I rest with this on 103, it helps with the microcirculation in the area and vascular development based on studies i’ve read. If my adrenaline is being annoying I grab one of these and crank it up and your body can’t fight the endorphins haha it forces you to relax. I LOVE that i can adjust it per degree, love the red lighting, and my pro tip is to cut off the tube of a sock and cover the remote to pad to prevent noise as it contacts the frame of your bed, and dims the light if you’re sensitive like me 🙂 Also UTK customer service was how i chose to try this brand (based on reading through reviews) and I did have an issue with one not working as expected, and UTK had me try a couple of troubleshooting tips, then promptly replaced it when it didn’t start working properly again. Huge fan of the products and the fact that they stand by their products.

   Works great! UPDATED
   The product arrived as described (bonus for quick shipping). I’ve been using it for almost a week (20 mins daily) and am beginning to notice improvements in muscle ache relief. It takes a few minutes to heat up but once at temperature it holds perfectly. I keep it between 110-120 although it goes up to 160 degrees. It feels like it’s made out of good quality material. I own the standard magic bean and electric heat pad as well and prefer the FAR heat pad over the others now. You have to use it regularly to really experience the benefits. Overall, it’s a good product.My heat pad stopped working after 9 months but they sent me a brand new. It was free of charge, free shipping and I didn’t even have to return the old one! Good customer service! This heat pad helps loosen up trigger points and the aches and pains for me so I am glad I bought it. Once the return was finalized (about a week) it took a week to received my new heat pad. I received my new product Feb 8th, 2021. Hope that helps! Thanks UTK!

   See Updates Below Initial Review:This heating pad takes a little bit to get used to, but once I got used to the weight of it and the feel of it I really like it. It does take a little more time to heat up than a standard heating pad but the trade off of a non-emf emission option is worth it to me. I purchased the additional/optional cover and feel like that has also been worth the purchase as well. The controls for the heating pad are extremely easy to use and have good features. The programmable memory setting is a nice touch. Overall I am happy with my purchase my drop of one star is that the heating pad is quite pricey compared to standard heating pads but for me worth it to avoid EMF emissions.Update: July 20, 2019I’ve had this heating pad for just slightly over one month and where the wire between the control unit and the heating pad meet, the wire covering has pulled away and there are exposed wires. This heating pad arrived on June 4,2019. Because of the time frame it is non-returnable to Amazon now. Pix provided.Update: July 25, 2019After contacting UTK customer service to explain my dissatisfaction and disappointment, the service team sent a replacement pad right away at no cost to me. It arrived just a day or so ago so I haven’t had time to utilize the new pad yet but was asked to revise or remove my review. So, I have revised my review to reflect the responsiveness of the UTK customer support but we’ll have to see if I run into a similar issue with the replacement pad or not.
